We learned from GAC Group that the production version of the GAC PICKUP 01 concept car will go on sale in 2027. The new car features a mecha-style exterior design and will be sold simultaneously in multiple countries including Australia and Saudi Arabia.

In terms of exterior, the GAC PICKUP 01 concept car has a sharply angular design, with a closed front face paired with a dot-matrix LED light strip, split headlights arranged in parallel, large approach and departure angles for the front and rear wheels, and high ground clearance, which should deliver good off-road capability. The lower body of the new car is surrounded by black cladding to avoid scratches during off-roading, the electronic exterior rearview mirrors are full of futuristic feel, and the rear styling echoes the front face.

In terms of interior, the new car's cabin also adopts a mecha style, equipped with large-area crystal panels and a full-width screen. The new car will be equipped with an advanced driver assistance system, and the interior space offers passenger-car-level comfort.

In terms of power, the GAC PICKUP 01 is built on the GAIA platform, which supports multiple power modes including pure electric and hybrid. The concept version uses pure electric power, while the production model will offer more power modes to choose from.

Dada commentary: The GAC PICKUP 01 is similar in style to the Tesla Cybertruck, also using a sharply angular stainless steel body, with a strong sense of technology and futurism. The electric motor peak torque of the GAC PICKUP 01 concept car can reach 12,000 N·m, and with air suspension and torque vectoring control, its power performance should not be underestimated. The GAC PICKUP 01 will be equipped with GAC's self-developed ADiGO 4.0 intelligent driving system, supporting L4-level autonomous driving, with a level of intelligence surpassing the Tesla Cybertruck. After launch, the new car will target overseas markets. Demand for pickup models in China is not strong enough, and the SUV on the same platform will have a market in China, but its price will be about 100,000 higher than the pickup model.
