On May 21, the BYD third-generation Yuan PLUS was officially launched, offering four models: the 540km Leading Edition, 540km超越型, 630km超越型, and 630km Excellence Edition. The new car measures 4665mm in length, 1895mm in width, and 1675mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2770mm, positioning it as a compact SUV.

In terms of exterior design, the third-generation Yuan PLUS features a full-width trim strip and slim headlight clusters at the front, with a trapezoidal air intake in the lower bumper. The rear is equipped with a two-stage high-mounted brake light and a full-width taillight. In terms of dimensions, the new car measures 4665mm in length, 1895mm in width, and 1675mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2770mm. The new car is equipped with a 180L electric front trunk and has switched to traditional mechanical door handles.

In the interior, the third-generation Yuan PLUS features an 8.8-inch full LCD instrument panel and a 15.6-inch floating central control screen (12.8-inch for the 540KM Leading Edition), with the DiLink system built in. The gear shifter is a column-mounted design, paired with a two-spoke steering wheel, and the 630KM Excellence Edition adds a 12-inch head-up display. The front passenger area features a "queen" passenger seat with a leg rest, supporting power adjustment, ventilation, heating, and a one-touch nap mode, with a "figure display niche" storage compartment and a Type-C port in front. In addition, the new car offers front seat heating and ventilation, steering wheel heating, an in-car refrigerator, and a 16-speaker audio system.

In terms of intelligent driving, the third-generation Yuan PLUS comes standard across all variants with the DiPilot 100 system, offering L2-level assisted driving capabilities, including full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, and traffic sign recognition. Except for the 540KM Leading Edition, the other three models can be optioned with the "God's Eye B - Assisted Driving Laser Edition" (DiPilot 300). This option package includes a lidar and 30 perception units, supporting highway navigation, urban navigation, and full-scenario automatic parking. The 630km version is equipped with an electric motor with a total power of 240kW, a battery capacity of 68.547kWh, and a CLTC pure electric range of 630km.

Xiao Tang's view: The main updates of the third-generation Yuan PLUS are concentrated in the platform, power format, and equipment levels. Compared with the previous model, it has switched to a rear-wheel-drive platform, and the body dimensions and wheelbase have increased, so interior space is expected to improve accordingly. The range is offered in two versions, 540 km and 630 km, and flash charging technology is standard across the lineup. At room temperature, charging from 10% to 70% takes about 5 minutes, and charging to 97% takes about 9 minutes, reducing concerns about charging. Overall, the product strength of the third-generation Yuan PLUS has indeed been enhanced, and for consumers considering a pure electric SUV at this price point, it is an option worth including in comparisons.
