On October 16, the 2027 Tank 500 opened for pre-orders, and the official announcement revealed two pre-order benefits. The new vehicle adds a Danxia Red exterior color and a black-gray interior color scheme, and continues to offer three powertrains: gasoline, Hi4-T, and Hi4-Z.

The new vehicle's exterior continues the current model's silhouette, with a large horizontal chrome grille at the front, a square Tank logo set in the center, and matrix LED headlights on both sides; the side retains dense-spoke wheels, mechanical door handles, roof rails, and chrome window trim, while the rear still features a side-opening tailgate and a full-size spare tire mounted externally. In terms of body dimensions, the plug-in hybrid version measures 5078mm long, 1934mm wide, and 1905mm high, while the 3.0T gasoline version measures 5070mm, 1934mm, and 1905mm, with a wheelbase of 2850mm for both.

Inside, the vehicle is equipped with a 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch central control screen, a head-up display, and a small table behind the front passenger seat, and the number of speakers has increased compared with the current model. High-end trim levels are equipped with a 17.3-inch rear entertainment screen, and a front passenger entertainment screen is optional, forming an integrated dual-screen setup with the central control screen. The center console adopts a Danbi Stone-style auxiliary instrument panel and retains a physical quartz clock and physical buttons.

In terms of intelligent driving, a 360° panoramic camera and 180° transparent chassis are standard, while high-end trim levels are equipped with the Coffee Pilot 4 assisted driving system, integrating the VLA driving agent, equipped with LiDAR, and featuring the Thor-U chip with 700TOPS of computing power. The number of cameras and millimeter-wave radars on some models has also increased compared with the current model.

In terms of powertrains, the 3.0T V6 gasoline version is paired with a 48V mild hybrid system and a 9AT transmission, with a maximum engine power of 265kW; the Hi4-T uses a 2.0T engine, a single motor, and a 9HAT transmission, with a combined system power of 310kW, a 37.1kWh battery, a WLTC all-electric range of 110km, and a DC fast-charging time from 30% to 80% of about 16 minutes. The Hi4-Z uses a 2.0T engine, front and rear dual motors, and a 3-speed DHT transmission, with a combined system power of 635kW, a 59.05kWh battery, a WLTC all-electric range of 201km, and a DC fast-charging time from 30% to 80% of about 15 minutes. All plug-in hybrid versions support 6kW external discharge.

Xiao Tang's view: The Tank 500 is positioned as a mid-to-large SUV, offers 5-seat and 7-seat layouts, adopts a body-on-frame structure, and features double-wishbone independent front suspension with a multi-link non-independent rear suspension. The main adjustments for the 2027 model are the cabin and intelligent driving, while the body structure, three powertrain assemblies, and body dimensions remain unchanged. Comfort is becoming a consideration alongside off-road capability, and off-road redundancy remains a key pricing factor.
